AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Toner
A cult 'miracle' toner that is mostly a niacinamide and tea tree water toner, with salicylic, lactobionic and citric acids at very low levels.
Buyer verdictGood for calming oily, blemish-prone skin, and gentle enough for nearly daily use. Don't buy it expecting a real exfoliating toner: the three acids add up to well under 0.1%. Seoul is clearly cheaper than Amazon UK; we haven't matched an Amazon US listing.

What it is
Some By Mi’s AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Toner was one of the K-beauty products that went viral abroad. The name promises a three-acid exfoliating toner that clears skin in a month. The Korean ingredient list tells a gentler story.
After water and humectants, the main ingredients are niacinamide and tea tree leaf water. Then come plant extracts (papaya, lentil, witch hazel, lotus), swiftlet nest extract, hyaluronic acid, allantoin and adenosine. The three acids appear near the end, with amounts stated: salicylic acid at 100 ppm, lactobionic acid at 100 ppm and citric acid at 500 ppm. A little peppermint oil is listed last.
Korea registers it as a functional cosmetic, through niacinamide (brightening) and adenosine (wrinkles).
Who it suits (and who should skip it)
Good pick if
- You have oily or blemish-prone skin and want a calming daily toner
- Stronger acid toners leave your skin red or tight
- You like a toner with a little tea tree and a fresh feel
Skip it if
- You want real exfoliation; a proper BHA or AHA product will do more
- You react to tea tree or peppermint oil
- Your skin is dry and wants a hydrating toner first
What the ingredients do
Niacinamide does most of the useful work here. It helps regulate oil, calm redness and fade the marks breakouts leave behind. Tea tree has a long reputation for blemish-prone skin, though as a leaf water it’s a gentle form.
The acids are where expectations need managing. Salicylic acid (a BHA) usually works at 0.5% to 2%, and this toner has 0.01%. The amounts of lactobionic acid (a PHA) and citric acid (an AHA) are similarly low. They may help a little with smoothness over time, but they’re not strong enough to act as a real exfoliant. That’s also why the toner is so easy to tolerate.
Allantoin, hydroxyethyl urea and hyaluronic acid keep skin comfortable. Witch hazel adds a slightly astringent, fresh feel.
How to use it
Some By Mi’s directions are to soak a cotton pad, wipe gently along the skin, then pat in the rest. Because the acids are so mild, most people can use it morning and night. Follow with serum and moisturiser, and sunscreen in the morning.
If you also use a real exfoliant or retinoid, this toner usually layers fine alongside it.
How it compares
COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner is the closest rival and does a bit more exfoliating, with glycolic acid and betaine salicylate. Medicube Zero Pore Pad is the step up for real pore care. Isntree Green Tea Fresh Toner is an acid-free calming toner for oily skin.
Is it worth buying in Seoul?
Yes, if you already like it. Olive Young sells the 150ml bottle, and the Seoul sale price is roughly a third below Amazon UK. We haven’t matched an official Amazon US listing for the same bottle yet, so there’s no US comparison on this page.
At the usual sale price it clears the ₩15,000 tax refund minimum on its own, just barely.
FAQ
How strong are the acids?
Very mild. The Korean label lists salicylic acid and lactobionic acid at 100 ppm each (0.01%) and citric acid at 500 ppm (0.05%). For comparison, a typical BHA treatment uses 2% salicylic acid.
Will it clear my skin in 30 days?
The name is marketing. It can make oily, blemish-prone skin feel calmer and clearer, but it isn't an acne treatment. For persistent acne, see a pharmacist or dermatologist.
Does it contain fragrance?
There's no added fragrance, but a small amount of peppermint oil and raspberry ketone are listed, which give it a light scent.
Is the swiftlet nest real bird's nest?
Yes, it's an extract of edible swiftlet nest, a traditional luxury ingredient in East Asia. It's present in a small amount.
